She liked them, yes?

Ok I have been so busy trying to do the groundwork of this The Cheese Cuppies ( let's now call it TCC shall we ? ) costing, researching on recipes, practising, collecting ideas of decorations, marketting, getting help for the logo designing and of course, communicating with my ( baking ) teacher on mistakes and techniques.

So busy that I almost forgot about the review done by Nazieha of Elwarda Dance. This belly dancing teacher cum friend lost an uncle recently so I thought why not cheer her up and practice the skills at the same time ?

So she got 9 cheesecuppies of different flavours, actually the pictures in one of the previous postings were the leftovers from her batch. And she did a review on it here. She blogs quite a bit and her  blog is also one which flows with great business tips/reflections and her personal take on life ( and fashion! ). So do hop on there.

And after ordering the cheesecuppies and you feel a workout is necessary, do check out her Elwarda Dance company for some awesome belly dancing lessons!

The stuff in it

In many cake shops, some of the cheesecake are mixed with cream or a little flour. But if one checks the real cheesecake recipe, a pure blissful cheesecake only use natural ingredients-mainly cream cheese. I don't like to compromise with quality hence I use only the real stuff.

For the base, I use real Oreos or Julie's chocolate cookies or McVites digestives. And as for the cream cheese, I use Kraft Philadelphia Cream Cheese. And fresh fruits, always!

On top of that, making cheese cupcakes is labour intensive. Each cup must be individually filled with ground biscuits/cookies and a spoonful of melted butter needed to level in at the base of the cup. And once each cup has been filled with the cream cheese mixture, it has to be constantly watched over the baking period so that it would not crack, although a water bath is used in the process.

Phew, through all these, I still think that cheese cupcake is a good alternative to slice cheesecake. I can control the size, big or small depending on who is eating it, each cup can be 'designed' individually and no one is 'forced' to finish a big slice of cheesecake, just not to waste the expensive cake.

For all above, I am charging Rm 65 for one dozen ( 12 ) cheese cuppies, large size. A cupful of good finger licking cheesy goodie. Each cup, I must say is cheaper than a slice of store bought cake which, to save cost, does not follow the real recipe. Mine does and honest to goodness too! :)

The Story of Cheese Cuppies

From passion to hobby to business ideas.

I have always had a passion for learning and acquiring new skills. So off I went to attend short term baking classes in the baking schools here. It was at the baking class that I learnt how to make cheesecakes. Our teacher taught us to make small sizes cheesecakes. Then I thought... why not cheesecupcakes instead?

So I tried it out when my parents came in January from Singapore. They love the idea as they can eat small portions of it without having to finish the whole slice. And fuss free too! No need for plates and knife to cut and a fork or spoon to eat it with. Just sink our teeth into the cheesy yummilicious mush and throw away the wrapper next.

As a post class project, The Cheese Cuppies was born with the encouragement of my lovely baking teachers who have taught us so many things about turning our passion into a business entity.

So on this site, I dedicate The Cheese Cuppies to my teacher whom I have been chatting almost daily on gmail on baking tips and ideas post baking class and of course, the fans of cheesecakes!

To the people who made this site possible with your graphic designing help ( Irma and Shinta I love you both !!! ) and to my husband who loves food and support my passion in cooking and baking in any ways possible for him-- this site would not have been possible without all of you !
